April 2017 newsletter

Thanks to all who helped on the Gibbet, a great day for all and a healthy addition to club funds. London saw some great performances and we have the Presentation Evening to look forward to.

This month’s newsletter includes write-ups from the Combe Gibbet race, the London Marathon and the first fixture of the year for the Southern Athletics League.

March 2017 Newsletter

As this bumper edition of the newsletter goes to press the Gibbet race has just happened, a great day thanks to all the marshals, volunteers and competitors.  Neil and Lee have been pot hunting round the  South East and two triathletes were in South Africa doing their thing. The Gibbet report will be in next month’s newsletter but news from the other hemisphere has already made it into this month’s.  The cross country season has finished on a bit of a flat note, for the men’s team which unsurprisingly  have been relegated into Division 2. Never mind there’s always the prospect of promotion next year.  The Track and Field season starts in earnest this month; contact the relevant captains if you wish to take
part, the more the merrier.
The Annual Harriers Presentation Evening is to be held on Friday 5th May at the Clock and Thyme.
Please see the attached menu. If you wish to attend, please could you reply to Sarah McCann

February 2017 newsletter

The big event of the month was the Harriers Training Week in the new location of Hastings which was a great success. Notwithstanding this week away the club has also been continuing its performances in the HRRL at Ryde 10. Neil Martin also took a small trip out into the Thames Valley for a gentle jog!
Looking ahead March sees the last XC at Reading, Salisbury 10 and Eastleigh 10k with the Combe Gibbet being the first weekend in April; any help for the Gibbet especially marshalling would be gratefully received.
