March 2018 Newsletter

Well the weather has really not been conducive to running, especially if training for a marathon, trying to do 20 milers around Hampshire has been very challenging with mud, snow and ice causing difficulties for anyone trying to go long. The Gibbet was a great success through it was very hard this year with a number of runners, including myself succumbing to the conditions. Thank you to all who marshalled, organised served tea, baked cakes, it makes for a great event.

February 2018 Newsletter

Great training weekend with good company, food, drink and some running; thanks to all who helped organise.
The XC Season finished at Aldershot with the men’s team gaining promotion back to Division 1. It’s a big leap and we will have to get the numbers, and the talent out, to stay in that Division. Men’s and Ladies teams took the ferry across to Ryde for the 10 mile, though some of us were a bit surprised by the toughness of the new course. Combe Gibbet is just around the corner and Alistair Paul is still looking for volunteers for Marshalling and other duties….

New year started with the XC Champs at Fairthorne Manor on a very muddy course with a fair few Harriers; Reading XC was just a few stalwarts probably due to the mass of Harriers going to Stubbington 10k the next day.
