SOUTHERN LEAGUE Division 4 West MATCH 2 Horsham 17th May 2003

Match Report by David Vosser

Well Hammered at Horsham

Whilst the rest of the country were watching the Cup Final, a smaller than normal team of Harriers had a wet and miserable day at an elongated joint men’s and woman’s fixture at Horsham. Looking at our opposition’s results from the first round we knew before hand that this was going to be a tough match and we weren’t disappointed.

A number of notable results did however stand out for us, in particular the 5000metres. Jamie gave us our only win of the day after a competitive run against a good Channel Islands athlete, but Jamie’s magical sprint finish gave him a clear victory. A big thank you and well done to Dave Mills who after a few hours notice travelled to Horsham and ran a super 5k to gain our only 2nd place on the track. Josh and Aaron however both performed really well against stiff opposition gaining valuable points finishing 3rd in their events

Star of the field was Simon Morgan, who threw the Hammer to a seasons best gaining our only other 2nd place.
